Professional Development Services

Professional development is a key part of EMFEC’s activities. We aim to provide conference, seminar, continuing professional development, network events and commissioned consultancy to support the development and growth of our members. We recognise that the staff development that we provide should reflect the needs of our members and customers and focus very strongly on listening to our users to identify the areas in which we can offer support.

EMFEC’s professional development events work on the principle of offering real solutions for practioners by practioners. Our staff have extensive experience of working in the post-14 learning and skills sector and this is supported by our network of associates who, as senior managers in colleges, universities, other learning organisations and/or registered Ofsted/ALI inspectors, provide further expertise and detailed knowledge. Our strong relationship with other agencies, such as the LSC, GOEM and emda helps us to achieve synergy with the policy makers and other key providers of learning, training and development. This enables us to complement rather than duplicate staff development programmes and provide a balanced perspective on new and emerging issues affecting the delivery of learning and skills.
