Would you like to know how to access simple, cheap and free technologies to improve the way you work?  Dave Foord, our experienced and personable trainer, will give a presentation.  He will share eight ideas with you on how to access these useful technologies:

more effective ways of sending out weekly updates etc (using a blog rather than an all staff email)

using Mind Mapping Software (for taking minutes, managing projects, producing documents)

using Twitter as a communication tool

creating a Google Map from a spreadsheet of data (eg plotting the location of all your learners on a map, or all the premises within organisation)

electronic note taking (recording information on paper, but in a way that the information can be kept electronically and converted into text)

ways of using text messaging (to collect information from staff, students etc)

having multiple people edit the same document at the same time

recording and distributing audio files from a mobile phone (so a college Principal can send a well done message to someone whilst he/she is out on important networking meeting).

Many aspects of our everyday technologies such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint are under-used.  Yet certain applications will save you time and significantly improve the quality of the output.  Come and find out how!

You will be most welcome.

Networks are popular because they offer:

·                 termly meetings to share ideas and strategies to address current issues/challenges

·                 informal networking over lunch, followed by an afternoon meeting

·                 the opportunity to make useful links with colleagues across different organisations

·                 value for money

·                 an annual regional conference, organised by EMFEC, with outside speakers and peer-facilitated workshops.
