The Sexual Health Network programme project funding supported 4 East Midlands’ projects at £4,000 each. Organisations were invited to bid for the funding opportunity and the successful applications chosen.
Organisations eligible to apply were:
- FE colleges
- Work-based learning providers
- Adult and community learning providers
- Specialist colleges
- Sixth form colleges.
The aim of each project was to produce a set of resources for learners to support sexual health education or raise sexual health awareness for post-16 learners. The resources could be in any appropriate format, for example, books, cards, resource packs, or a toolkit and could be tailored to a specific post-16 target audience, for example, learners with learning or physical disabilities, apprentices etc.
Proposals were assessed on the extent to which they:
- addressed sexual health issues for post-16 learners
- demonstrated a collaborative approach within institutions or between more than one institution
- addressed issues in relation to sexual health and the general well-being of learners
- identified potential benefits and outcomes which are measurable and relevant
- represented value for money.
The four successful organisations were:
- Outreach Young People’s CASH Services
- Grantham College
- Access Training
- Nottingham CityCare Partnership
